thanks wayne, i appreciate the feedback on this post especially since it's not a topic that most AA pastors will care to broach.
it will be interesting to see what types of individuals and events will be in place for the formation of a healthy, vibrant AA church (actually, i'd just take relevant and authentic, but i digress). eugene is certainly a player and so is soong chan, and so are you. i'm just excited to see the waters stir. it will be exciting to see how this theology becomes articulated. and asianamergence isn't something all that special yet, it's very formative, so don't be afraid to try it out there where you are, you'll generate just as much buzz, if not more, i assure you.

What a great post.

I've often felt that a time will come (as well as a need) for an asian-American liberation theology. Mind you, it won't be as pained as that of Black or Latin American but nonetheless I see this as a necessary direction for the future of the Asian-Am church. There are gonna be some voices that are gonna stand out and exegete society along with Scripture. We already see it happening in the likes of guys like Eugene Cho and some of the other "characters" who lurk around here :)

May we be such catalysts for change in the years to come. I wish I were on the east coast to be a part of asianamergence. Give me a few years and I'll join u guys...
