"Not your nationality."

This article is about Ken Watanabe defending the casting in the movie, "Memoirs of a Geisha". Apparently in a movie set in Japan, clearly displaying Japanese culture, around a geisha (cultural icon), to use Chinese actors has apparently set off some cultural tensions between China and Japan. The critics, likely Japanese, said that in a film that was showcasing Japanese culture, it should have Japanese actors in the lead roles. Watanabe, himself Japanese, responded that talent was the most important thing. Here's another plot twist: "Memoirs of a Geisha" is an American novel.

I have a question, what are we doing with Asian churches with a Jewish Messiah in a land called America? I mean, talk about cultural bridges we need to cross. We've got a lot of explaining to do.
